What is The History Between Us Zine?

Fights and confessions across time and space, love and hatred through the ages and… couple’s therapy. For the sake of what remains of them. For the sake of the Universe. The History Between Us will chronicle the Doctor and the Master’s adventures across every incarnation, with 30+ contributors, fully illustrated stories, add-on merch and so, so much more.

All profits from the sale of the zine will be going to Micro Rainbow, a charity providing safe housing for LGBTQ+ refugees. You can find them @ MicroRainbow on Twitter.

We believe very strongly in making everything we do as affordable and accessible as possible. For this reason, we are offering an audiobook and digital editions in addition to physical copies. We are also offering a standard physical edition where every penny of cost will go directly back into making the zine.

About the 77 Years Team:

The 77 Years Team has been in its present form since December 2021, when Katherine, Em and Dev joined forces to start what would become “The 77 Years Zine”. Since then, the success of the 77 Years Zine and the team’s collective enthusiasm at doing it again spawned The History Between Us (THBU). THBU will be even bigger and more ambitious than its predecessors, with more contributors, crazy new additions to the zine format and mindblowing merch. Preorders are currently due to open in October 2023.

We’ve got no plans of stopping zines any time soon. In future, we aim to set up a stall at comic con, host panels and be present at large conventions such as Gallifrey One. Who knows what’s next?

Katherine

Katherine is responsible for the zine’s overall project management and manufacture. This means generating ideas and prototypes, managing contributors, set up, handling print then packaging and posting all zines. She enjoys promoting the zine on podcasts and in person and can be found on Who Knew, AALOR podcast and the Community Show. She dabbles in every area of the zine’s production, much like her two fellow mods. Can best be described as an overly enthusiastic camp counsellor.

Em is responsible for giving the zine a social media presence, this means creating graphics for and posting on the zine’s social media accounts. He also works as an editor, proofreader, contributor manager and general decision maker. In The History Between Us, you’ll see his writing threaded through the length of the zine alongside the work of our brilliant contributors.

Dev

Dev possesses the design braincell amongst the mod team and is responsible for how the entire zine is laid out. As well as designing each page, Dev guides contributors on format and helps with general graphic design. They also work as an editor, proofreader, finance mod and like the entire mod team, dabble in many tasks. They can be found in the body of a pug, appearing in sightings across the continental US.
